[well, this was novel. She'd never actually gone out of her way to contact one of them. Was he sympathetic? Was he helpful? Was it all a lie or a ruse? He was Loki, after all.
It was worth a shot.]
So. When you have a minute, I wanted to talk business. Preferably face to face. I could deal with network though. You're a busy man... empire to run and city to manage.
[She didn't necessarily want or need the others listening in.]
[Good. He was her kind of shit. Too much playing fair around here.]
Last time I checked, everyone likes to be really above the board with their deals. Hell, I've got people trying to convince me that we should all be good little boy scouts and sell the poisons on the front counter. Call me crazy, but it sounds odd, and I know there's got to be some things people want to get rid of between the cities that they'd rather not advertise.
Oh sweetheart, if you actually believe the gods are without their own secrets, you're more naive than I thought you were. Their people had their own little network of illegal trades, and some little birdies have been telling me it's springing back to life now that they're regaining their color.
The rest of your travelers might not be willing to get their hands dirty, but that doesn't mean it isn't done.
But that still doesn't tell me what you plan to do about it.
[She chuckled, almost a little darkly. Loki had just made her day, officially. Law wasn't something she concerned herself with that much. She had standards, and she didn't want to 'impede others' path in life' that much, but that didn't mean she was going to avoid what was a real opportunity.]
Oh, I know they do... trust me. And it's been getting on my nerves. So, I'm going to ask you one question and start with a vague answer to yours.
One. Is this line secure from Odin and Heimdall, and if not can we meet somewhere? I'll lock the bracelet up for an hour, and I don't care if they know I'm doing that much. They'll end up having to watch me eventually anyway, on their side or not.
Two. I want in. I've got standards, but I'm not turning resources down just because my hands need to get dirty. I've cleaned blood out of my claws before, and this won't be the last time.
Like to set up an appointment, once we're done figuring out what needs to be done about me this time... I think they need to take more drastic measures, but they're playing nice.
[ahem]
You, me. I'll be hanging my bracelet at the door for an hour. I'll try to make it worth the effort. Got something I think you'd maybe like.
It's a ... potion. Hasn't taken well over here, and I'm starting to question seeing it sold anymore around these parts. But, it's something I think you might have a use for.
I'll give you the specifics and recipe when we meet. Trust me, though, that it's worth at least having a look at it. Just don't use the stuff yourself. No clue what it'll do with the gods, if anything.
I'd prefer to keep it in the city limits for now. How about you stop by the shop and I'll toss my bracelet in a box so we can talk off the record? When's good for you?
Works for me. It'll just be me by then. See you soon.
[She made sure the others were gone before she brought what little of the stock she kept around, setting it in a box along with a list of the ingredients. By the time he would show up, she had everything pretty much ready to be looked over.]
Couple natives help me out. Most of the ... 'found' stuff I shuffle for them [Cute way of saying she was a fence on the side] gets done through them out the back door. Sophie doesn't know, and she doesn't need to.
Might be getting another helper in the lab though. We'll see. Couple prospects.
It's cozy though. Just off from the hospital, so I can ship medicines to there and the clinic in Heimdall easily. No wasted space, and it's one of the old spots someone used to use as a lab long ago. I prefer not to be 'too' big a fish in the sea as a rule.
She works the register, yeah, and that's her attitude at least.
[She let him look over things. Some of her recent creations, like the gill juice, were on display with a sample. Patting the crate, she pulled out a dose of the silver lotus and set it on the counter.]
Like this stuff. I came across the effect on accident while I was trying to find something to control my other half, thinking maybe something related to curses would help.
It... it's pretty potent stuff, and I've been testing to see if people would want it in the area, but there's only been a few takers. Working through proxy's a bitch.
[She shook her head, handing him a note on the recipe.]
It works a lot like if you mixed Heroine with a mild sort of Acid, if you know those two. Makes the person feel... not really good, but more themselves the way they're comfortable being. Everyone I've tested it on, the colors got brighter around them. Stronger, more vivid. The proxies all said the people taking them seemed to think the colors weren't as bad.
I almost thought about going public, until I remembered an old lesson.
[There isn't even a doubt in his mind who sent the message. Kudos to the Asgardians for even daring to pull that on Thiazi, but now they'll have to deal with the fallout.
Something tells Loki they're not the only ones who will be caught in the backlash. He's going to have to keep an eye out for her.]
[ This is not a thank you. They do not do thank yous. This is the croak of a sick man that is finally regaining some lucidity and nothing more, tyvm. ]

Talk business? You sure know your way to a god's heart.
So Samantha. What's on your mind?

Is that a proposition I hear? Bold of you to offer yourself to a god.

If it looks too good, it probably is.
